Until winter break, instructor Ian McDonald is teaching the Five-section Yang Style form developed by Sam Masich. The five is an excellent introduction to the popular 24 Posture Yang Style form and is easier to learn and to practice in a small space. After the holidays, we will progress to the full 24 Posture Yang Style form.
Ian has studied extensively under Sam Masich and Sana Shanti. He begins each class with qi gong and breathing exercises for gentle warm-up that ties in with the principles of our tai chi practice.
Once a month, guest instructor Jim Cryderman, who studies under Sana Shanti, joins us to concentrate on awareness of the body as it relates to fundamental tai chi principles.
We also offer one or more workshops a year with instructors such as Sana Shanti.
